This Passionfruit Margarita with Passionfruit Flavour Pearls is a delightfully fruity version of a classic cocktail. Passionfruit has a delightfully fresh tang.  Enjoy this over ice on a warm day. Perfect to make a jug ahead of time and just keep sipping 🍹

Passionfruit Margarita with Passionfruit Flavour Pearls

What you’ll need – this is for a jug of 8 – 10 🍹

  • 2 cups Tequila
  • 1 cup Grand Marnier (or Cointreau or Tripple Sec)
  • 3/4 cup Lime Juice – freshly squeezed is best
  • 1 cup Passionfuit pulp (no seeds)
  • 3/4 cup Simple Sugar Syrup (see below)
  • *if you are trying to lighten up on the alcohol feel free to make a spritzer version – just add some Mineral or Soda Water to your glass too*
  • Cocktail Sugar or Salt of your choice – we used Mango Cocktail Sugar keeping with the fruity feels
  • Passionfruit Flavour Pearls
  • Dried Lime slices – we dried our own but found some at Coles that is way more convenient!
  • Jug to mix 1.5 – 2lts
  • Ice to serve

To do

If you don’t happen to have Simple Sugar Syrup handy in your fridge lets get that ready first. Simply add 1 cup of Water and 1 cup of White Sugar into a saucepan, give it a stir and bring to the boil. Basically we are just dissolving the sugar. Allow it to cool before use.

I didn’t have fresh Passionfruit handy so just bought a few tins of pulp from the supermarket. Just pass it through a sieve to remove the seeds.

Into a large hopefully pretty jug add in the Tequila, Grand Marnier, Lime Juice, Passionfruit and Sugar Syrup. Stir to combine.

To serve

Let’s pretty up the glasses. Simply run a Lime wedge around the rim of each glass then dip the rim into your Cocktail Sugar or Salt. We put some onto a saucer to make the dipping bit easier but if you want to make it a self serve Cocktail station pop the Sugar or Salt into one of our Large Glass Dish with some glasses, Lime wedges, Flavour Pearls and Lime slices, Ice and jug of Cocktail ready to go.

Simply add a generous amount of ice into each of the sugar or salt rimmed glasses. Pour over the delicious Cocktail. Add a slice of dried Lime spoonful of Passionfruit Flavour Pearls to finish.
