Australia Day Sticky & Smoky BBQ Ribs

Close Up Of Smoked Roasted Pork Ribs.

We’re bringing you our delicious Smoky and Sticky BBQ Ribs recipe for this year’s Australia Day celebrations! This recipe incorporates our Mrs Oldbucks Hickory Smoked BBQ Sauce so you can save time and effort without having to make your own sauce. In this recipe you’re going to first bake the ribs then finish them on the barbeque or grill to keep them tender and tasty. The ingredients you’ll need for this recipe are:

  • Pork Ribs – spare ribs or baby back ribs are fine
  • 1 jar of Mrs Oldbucks Pantry Hickory Smoked BBQ Sauce
  • apple juice
  • salt
  • brown sugar
  • smoked paprika
  • garlic powder
  1. Remove the white looking skin membrane from the back of the ribs (if this hasn’t already been done by the butcher) and discard. Combine the salt, paprika, garlic powder and brown sugar in a small bowl and season the ribs by rubbing this mix generously over both sides. Place the ribs in two foil-lined baking trays and pour over the apple juice. Cover the trays in more foil and place in the oven at 160 degrees. Bake for 2.5-3 hours or until the ribs are tender.
  2. Once the ribs have finished baking and are nice and tender, preheat your grill or barbeque on a medium-high heat for at least 5 minutes. Grab our Mrs Oldbucks Pantry Hickory Smoked BBQ Sauce and brush all over the ribs. Place the ribs on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, regularly brushing with the sauce to allow a glaze to form over the ribs. They should have a  shiny and glossy coating and be super sticky.
  3. Remove the ribs from the grill and allow them to rest for 5 minutes before cutting and serving. We like to serve ours with a variety of Summer salads! These are best eaten with your hands 😉
